Our Pastor:

Pastor Joeng Hie Lee
Pastor Joeng Hie Lee is an ordained pastor with a deep passion for building bridges, nurturing disciples, and helping congregations discover their God-given calling. Her call to ministry did not come through a single dramatic moment, but through a steady and faithful journey of listening to God’s voice over time. Through prayer, study, and service, she felt a growing conviction that God was inviting her to shepherd people, equip them for ministry, and guide communities into deeper faith and mission.
Pastor Joeng completed her theological study at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Georgia. She has lived in the United States for about 30 years and has experienced the blessing of serving in diverse cultural settings. These experiences have shaped her heart for connecting people across cultures, generations, and backgrounds. She believes the church is called not only to care for its own members, but also to share Christ’s love generously with the wider community.
Her ministry focuses on:
-
Preaching that is biblically grounded, clear, and life-applicable
-
Equipping each member to discover and use their spiritual gifts
-
Encouraging youth and children as vital members of the church
-
Fostering unity while honoring diversity
-
Leading congregations toward spiritual renewal and mission engagement
Pastor Joeng was born and raised in South Korea. She is married and has two grown sons, ages 27 and 25. She treasures family deeply and understands the importance of supporting families within the life of the church.
She believes the church exists not for itself, but for God’s mission in the world. When a congregation centers its life on loving God and loving neighbor, transformation happens—both within the church and in the surrounding community.
Pastor Joeng looks forward to walking in faith with North Pointe UMC—listening for God’s leading together, nurturing healthy and joyful ministry relationships, and continuing to grow as a faithful and vibrant church.
